Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we complete our first week with all students back in the school building safely, we would like to address the following;

  • We would like to clarify that as you are aware, we have given students the option to wear their school track suit or their school uniform for the remainder of this academic year. This was decided in order to allow flexibility for students who may have outgrown parts of the uniform or their school shoes. Students should not be wearing any other items of clothing, eg; hoodies, leggings, etc, that are not part of the school uniform or school track suit. We have not relaxed rules around the wearing of tan/false nails/false eyelashes, etc. We ask for your cooperation in addressing the removal of these over the weekend where applicable. All students are very familiar with the standards that we expect in this regard.
  • The Psychological Support Service (PSS) has organised a webinar for the parents of students in DDLETB post-primary and Youthreach centres. This webinar aims to help parents support students in managing their anxiety. The guest speaker is Dr Colman Noctor, a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and an Assistant Professor in University College Dublin. Colman is the resident Child Psychotherapist on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTE Radio One, a columnist with the Irish Examiner, the best-selling author of ‘Cop On,’ a parenting book for the technological age and host of the very successful podcast series, ‘Asking for a Parent.’

Title: Helping Your Child to Manage Anxiety Date: Wednesday 21st April Time: 19:30 – 20:30

Please see the poster for this webinar attached. We hope as many parents as possible benefit from this webinar.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and we wish you a lovely weekend.
