Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope this finds you well as our students have settled back into online school. We are delighted to have our students back in An Ríocht since last Monday and they are thrilled to be back in school and meeting each other and their teachers.

Please see the attached document which sets out plans and dates for the phased re opening of schools. We would like to draw your attention to the following parts in particular;

  • Monday 15 March is the target date for the return to in-school provision of the rest of primary school children - third to sixth class students - and fifth year Leaving Certificate students. This date will be reviewed during the period following 1 March.
  • Monday 12 April, following the Easter break is the target date for the return to in-school education for the rest of post-primary students - first to fourth year students
  • Remote teaching and learning provision for students in each category will cease once in-person teaching and learning provision commences for each group of students.
  • Please see the following link for further information;

As you are aware, today marks the end of Semester 2 in our school, and students will be assessed in their subject areas next week from Monday 1st March to Friday 5th March as per our school calendar. Students will be assessed within their timetabled classes next week so there is no assessment timetable. Parents of all year groups will then receive the Semester 2 reports before the Easter break.

Semester 3 begins on Monday 8th March. End of semester assessments for Semester 3 will take place during the week of Monday 31st May to Friday 4th June for all year groups as per our school calendar. We will send a separate e mail to 3rd year parents today with the breakdown of the plan for assessment and school certification for 3rd year students. This will take place instead of the Junior Cycle State examinations which have been cancelled for this year.

Many thanks to the 3rd and TY parents who have applied for Senior Cycle programmes(LCE/LCA/TY) in our school. We will communicate with parents and students about the next step in the process depending on what programme your child has chosen. The closing date for receipt of applications is today Friday 26th February.

We wish you all a lovely and safe weekend,

Deborah and Mary.
