Email to Parents 29/03/2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we come to the end of week 10 of online school for 1st to TY students, we would like to commend the students for the quality of the work they have completed, and the efforts they have made over recent months. It has not been easy for them, and we would like to acknowledge their continued commitment and motivation.

The same should be expressed for our 5th year students who returned to face-to-face school on Monday 15th March. Their efforts both online and since they have returned are to be commended.

We would also like to highlight the following to you.

  • Student reports. All Semester 2 reports will go live to parents on vs ware today at 4pm. It is important that parents access and read the reports and can discuss progress to date and focus for the future.
  • School App. The school has launched its official app to accompany the website. It is hoped that the app will improve the communication between school and home as it can keep parents and guardians up to date on issues relating to the specific year groups and clubs that your child/children are in. The app is available HERE for Android Devices and HERE for iOS Devices. Attached to this email are the instructions on how to set up your school app.
  • Uniform Reminder prior to Returning to School. We ask that you review the Uniform policy prior to your child returning to school on Monday 12th April. The Uniform Policy can be found HERE. Please note that fake nails and tan, eye lashes and unnatural hair colours are not permitted, and adequate time should be set aside for these to be removed.
  • Support for parents. Given the difficult year, some students may be experiencing higher levels of anxiety than normal. In order to help and support parents, The Psychological Support Service will be hosting an evening webinar for parents entitled "Helping Your Child to Manage Anxiety." This webinar will take place on three separate evenings and DDLETB post-primary schools/centres will be divided into three groups, with each group allocated a different date. Following the Easter break, we will be in contact with further information regarding dates, time, and guest speaker.
  • We will communicate with all parents and guardians on Friday 9th April re updated plans and protocol for the return to school on Monday 12th April.

We wish you all a lovely Easter break. We hope you all keep safe and well.
    Deborah and Mary.

Is mise le meas,

Mary Murphy
