1st Year Skipping Activity

As part of our overall induction programme for our new first year students we were delighted to be able to offer all 180 students a break from the classroom, some outdoor exercise and an opportunity to either learn or develop their skill with a skipping rope! Mark McCabe, founder and head coach at SKIPnROPE joined us for the day on Thursday Oct 1st and throughout the day students participated in individual activities, paired skipping and some fun team building activities. Skipping is a terrific form of exercise that helps a child’s agility, balance, hand-eye co-ordination and can increase speed through footwork. It teaches children about rhythm and when put into team routines, it provides them with team work skills and encourages them to have confidence in their sporting ability. It is a great way to exercise, maintain good health while having lots of fun.

Feedback from our first year students was hugely positive and over the course of the coming couple of weeks there are a few more surprise activities in the pipeline.
