An Ríocht

An Ríocht is home to Kingswood Community College’s two autism classrooms and first opened in August 2019. As per Kingswood Community College’s Inclusion and Enrolment policies, enrolment in An Ríocht is dual enrolment. This means that all students in An Ríocht are members of a mainstream tutor group, year group and a House. This also facilitates student opportunities to access lessons in An Riocht and in mainstream classes. As an inclusive school, this is central to our mission of community and to provide students with opportunities to flourish in the school environment.

Each class takes a maximum of 6 students which allows dedicated support from the teaching and SNA team. This means that students benefit from the support which caters to their talents, skills and needs.

Students in An Ríocht are offered a wide range of subjects which allow them to develop their social skills, learning for life and subject-based curriculum depending on their skills and needs.

An Ríocht offers students learning opportunities in the following areas:

  • Level Two Learning Programmes
  • Junior Cycle
  • Transition Year
  • Leaving Certificate Applied
  • Leaving Certificate
